It's Weiner Roast Time!

Even though it wasn't HOT outside, I figured it was time to have supper around the fire. (More than anything, I just didn't want to cook!)
Daddy put weiners on the sticks and told the boys to start roasting. Abinet, as you can tell, didn't like the idea. He crinkled his little nose and I'm not sure if that's because the weiner was too heavy for him, or because the fire was too hot!

Mesele was a mean, lean, roasting machine! He's just that kind of boy. He WANTS to help do everything!!

Yep....it's time to eat!

Sunday School Picnic

A few Sunday's ago, we had our Sunday School Picnic at Rosthern Park. Our whole service was there and then we had a potluck lunch, and after that there were lots of activities for the kids to participate in. One of the favorites (at least for Mesele) was the climbing wall.

Mesele was up and down like a yo-yo! He didn't even want to give the other kids a try! He really is a little monkey :)

Abinet thought it would be fun to try until he actually got on the wall. He curled his little toes around those rocks and hung on for dear life! Look closely and you can even see that tongue sticking out! That means he's REALLY concentrating!!
Once we could tear the boys away from the climbing wall, they got to go horseback riding. This was there first time on a horse and they really enjoyed the ride.

I'm so glad they had so much fun, and we are looking forward to next year's picnic in the park!

What to do on a Beautiful Day....

Well, here in Saskatchewan we are still waiting for Spring to come. We've had such cool weather, and it seems like Winter is right around the corner. Don't get me wrong, we have had a few really nice days and this was one of them.

We turned on the sprinklers in the backyard and let the boys run and bike through the water. The water is pretty much ice cold, but they loved it!

After playing in the water, they played on the swings. Mesele was giving Abinet BIG pushes on the swing because Abinet wanted his feet to touch the very top! I'm not sure if he got quite the height that he needed!
Mesele is just my all around monkey. He climbs all over this play area and then without any hesitation....he jumps right off! He plays hard at everything he does! I hope we will get more days like this soon, because my boys are ready for SUMMER!!

Learning the Game of Football

I decided to try and teach the boys a little bit about football. (You know that they are going to be the future stars for the Riders...) Everything started out great. Abinet got in position and was ready to go.

But, Mesele thought that he was supposed to get into the same position to catch the ball!
Okay, so we had a little more work to do!

After a few tries, they had this down and made Mommy very proud! I can just see them proudly wearing the Green and White, waving to all their fans before they begin the Grey Cup game! Oh come on....you ALL know they have what it takes :)

A Spring Picnic

We finally had some nice weather, so the boys and I decided to have a nice little picnic outside. We ate, did LOTS of "Cheers" (I'm not sure what we were toasting too), and then had popsicles for the first time in a long time! I think that you can tell by the expression of their faces just how much they enjoyed these treats!
It was so fun and I'm sure there will a lot of picnics to come in the future!!

The First Soccer Game!

On Wednesday, Mesele played in his first soccer game. It was so cute to see the team so excited to play against another team! First, they started out doing some very important stretches! After that, the coach gave them a little pep talk, and then it was time to PLAY!

(this is the ready position)

Our team did awesome! We lost track of how many goals we scored! Mesele scored three on his first shift. He was so proud and he kept dancing on the sidelines because he couldn't contain his excitement! It's hard to tell if he likes hockey more then soccer, but right now....I think he's content with this sport!
(by the way, that's THREE goals I scored.........)

Mesele's Graduation

I was a very proud Mommy yesterday as I watched Mesele graduate from Pre-school!The kids put on a Mother's Day Tea and did graduation at the same time. We got our Mother's Day gift, made trifle together, ate and watched a slide show of the year that all the kids had.
All the graduates walked in wearing the little hats and went around all the tables before going up on stage. They sang a coulple of songs and then received their diplomas!
This is just a little video clip of one of the songs that the kids sang. So cute!! Yes, my boy is going up (just to fast!)
