Super Hero's!

For a LONG time, Mesele and Abinet have been saying that when they grow up they want to be Spider Man. In our house, we sing the Spider Man theme song often, even though the words aren't quite right. Sometimes the words are, "...catches leaves just like flies...." or "catches fleas just like flies.....", but NEVER have we heard the words, ....."catches theives just like flies....". Oh well, at least they have a good time!A little while ago, a friend of mine got these 2 costumes for the boys. Batman and Spider Man. They love these new costumes and wear them all the time. If they play hockey...they gotta put on the outfit! In the first picture, I asked them to pose like tough guys. Mesele didn't do too bad, but Abinet looks like he's doing part of the Chicken Dance!
On a closeup...Abinet looks a little bit tough.....

....but Mesele looks ready to star in the next Batman movie! I love this picture and just thought you all should have the chance to see it too!

Abinet's 3rd Birthday!

Well....my little boy is growing up! I can't believe how much things have changed this first year. When Abinet turned two, we had cake for him and he spit it out because he had never had cake before and he didn't like the taste of icing. This year...he didn't spit out anything and he knew this day was ALL about him!I decided to so a Spider Man/Super hero theme for his birthday. Mesele was Batman, Abinet was Spider Man and all the girls came as their favorite Princess.

One of the games was to find all the monsters downstairs and "web them" with Silly String! It was so cute to see them on the hunt and this is just a little indicator of what my basement looked like after the hunt was done!

Abinet had loads of fun and I'm so glad that he was able to enjoy and understand this birthday! He blew/spit out the candles and posed for endless pictures!
I just wish he would stay little, but when I asked him if he wanted to stay 2 years old he said an emphatic NO! I asked him if he would stay 3 years old forever and ever, and with a sweet little smile he said, "Yes!"
(i have a feeling that answer will change by next March....)

Lifting Weights

Brent and I don't have any exercise equipment at home, so sometimes you just have to work with what you have around the house. Well...we looked around the house and all we could find were Mesele and Abinet! They seemed heavy enough so, ....... let the workout begin!Brent went first, and he had no problem doing leg curls with our heaviest weight, Mesele, clinging onto his legs.
I thought I would start with a little bit of a lighter weight, so I called Abinet on over. It took it a little bit to bet started, but I did a few reps with about 35 lbs.

Then I got REALLY ambitious and decided to go for the heavy weight! What a terrible idea. I did get him up, but boy oh boy.....did I pay for it the next day! I think Brent and I will go out and get some real weights for our next workout!

(don't ya just love how white my legs are compared to the boys?!? I thought I still had a bit of a tan, but apparently it's not enough!)
