A Few Glances at our House

WOW! We are building a house!!!! Hard to believe how fast things are moving along. At first we were aiming to be in for Christmas, but if things continue to move along as fast as they have been so far.....we cold be moving into the house in November!
We have had lots of fun, lots of stress, and lots of confusion! We are so grateful for all the friends and family that are helping us build our dream. We know that we never could have done it on our own! (mind you...we never did try.....)
I know these aren't very many pictures, but it's hard to put everything on a blog. If you want to see more pictures, you better come for a visit!!
**By the way, I LOVE the red siding**
(feel free to compliment it too)

Bye for Now!

Mesele's 5th Birthday Party

Okay....so I know that I haven't done this in a LONG time and apparently I don't know what I am doing because all these birthday pictures went on in the wrong order! (must be the computer!)
Well, Mesele was SO excited to be turning 5 and yet he was disappointed that he had a wait an extra day before we could have his birthday party. He wasn't sure if he was 5 on the 18th or 19th?!?
We had a great group of friends out and they all had fun in the park even though it was VERY windy out! Who can complain when you have food, cake and friends?
Yep...I made the soccer ball cake. Yep, it was a last minute thing. Yep, I'm fairly happy with it (if you look from a distance)
Thanks for coming (those of you that did) and celebrating this day with Mesele.

Just for My Dad.....

Well, I guess that my dad has been wondering what has been going on in our life because he called to make a request that I update this blog! This is for you dad....a little bit of information on what kind of trouble we have been getting into!!
TADAA!! We went to the first Rider game of the season. It was against BC and we won! It was a great trip that we did with our friends, Ray & Jill.
Not that long ago we got a NASTY storm! There was thunder, hail, and LOTS of rain! Let's just say that when you are living in a little trailer and a storm starts....you just don't feel that safe!
After the storm we went out driving with mom and dad to see what things looked like. There was flooding all over the place! This is the lot that we are going to be building on. This was the low spot on the land, and we will be building on the other corner. Overall...not too bad!

This was taken on the last night in our house. Everything was cleaned out and the boys were sleeping on the floor. They had to hug and kiss Cookie Monster good-bye. I'm sure going to miss that painting! (thanks Crystal, for all the work you put into that! I might get you to paint more soon.....)

The most exciting thing that happened, was that I got my drivers back! That's right....I'm back on the road, so you better watch out! As soon as I had my license in my hand, I was off to the city to do some shopping! T'was a very good day!
I hope that this gives you a bit of an update on our lives. I won't be doing this very often, but I'll try to put new pictures up when I can.
I love you Dad!

It's Weiner Roast Time!

Even though it wasn't HOT outside, I figured it was time to have supper around the fire. (More than anything, I just didn't want to cook!)
Daddy put weiners on the sticks and told the boys to start roasting. Abinet, as you can tell, didn't like the idea. He crinkled his little nose and I'm not sure if that's because the weiner was too heavy for him, or because the fire was too hot!

Mesele was a mean, lean, roasting machine! He's just that kind of boy. He WANTS to help do everything!!

Yep....it's time to eat!

Sunday School Picnic

A few Sunday's ago, we had our Sunday School Picnic at Rosthern Park. Our whole service was there and then we had a potluck lunch, and after that there were lots of activities for the kids to participate in. One of the favorites (at least for Mesele) was the climbing wall.

Mesele was up and down like a yo-yo! He didn't even want to give the other kids a try! He really is a little monkey :)

Abinet thought it would be fun to try until he actually got on the wall. He curled his little toes around those rocks and hung on for dear life! Look closely and you can even see that tongue sticking out! That means he's REALLY concentrating!!
Once we could tear the boys away from the climbing wall, they got to go horseback riding. This was there first time on a horse and they really enjoyed the ride.

I'm so glad they had so much fun, and we are looking forward to next year's picnic in the park!

What to do on a Beautiful Day....

Well, here in Saskatchewan we are still waiting for Spring to come. We've had such cool weather, and it seems like Winter is right around the corner. Don't get me wrong, we have had a few really nice days and this was one of them.

We turned on the sprinklers in the backyard and let the boys run and bike through the water. The water is pretty much ice cold, but they loved it!

After playing in the water, they played on the swings. Mesele was giving Abinet BIG pushes on the swing because Abinet wanted his feet to touch the very top! I'm not sure if he got quite the height that he needed!
Mesele is just my all around monkey. He climbs all over this play area and then without any hesitation....he jumps right off! He plays hard at everything he does! I hope we will get more days like this soon, because my boys are ready for SUMMER!!

Learning the Game of Football

I decided to try and teach the boys a little bit about football. (You know that they are going to be the future stars for the Riders...) Everything started out great. Abinet got in position and was ready to go.

But, Mesele thought that he was supposed to get into the same position to catch the ball!
Okay, so we had a little more work to do!

After a few tries, they had this down and made Mommy very proud! I can just see them proudly wearing the Green and White, waving to all their fans before they begin the Grey Cup game! Oh come on....you ALL know they have what it takes :)

A Spring Picnic

We finally had some nice weather, so the boys and I decided to have a nice little picnic outside. We ate, did LOTS of "Cheers" (I'm not sure what we were toasting too), and then had popsicles for the first time in a long time! I think that you can tell by the expression of their faces just how much they enjoyed these treats!
It was so fun and I'm sure there will a lot of picnics to come in the future!!

The First Soccer Game!

On Wednesday, Mesele played in his first soccer game. It was so cute to see the team so excited to play against another team! First, they started out doing some very important stretches! After that, the coach gave them a little pep talk, and then it was time to PLAY!

(this is the ready position)

Our team did awesome! We lost track of how many goals we scored! Mesele scored three on his first shift. He was so proud and he kept dancing on the sidelines because he couldn't contain his excitement! It's hard to tell if he likes hockey more then soccer, but right now....I think he's content with this sport!
(by the way, that's THREE goals I scored.........)

Mesele's Graduation

I was a very proud Mommy yesterday as I watched Mesele graduate from Pre-school!The kids put on a Mother's Day Tea and did graduation at the same time. We got our Mother's Day gift, made trifle together, ate and watched a slide show of the year that all the kids had.
All the graduates walked in wearing the little hats and went around all the tables before going up on stage. They sang a coulple of songs and then received their diplomas!
This is just a little video clip of one of the songs that the kids sang. So cute!! Yes, my boy is going up (just to fast!)

Going on Two Tires!

Abinet has been anxiously awaiting the day when Daddy would finally take off his training wheels. He's asked OFTEN, and Daddy finally gave in!I must admit.....I didn't think Abinet would get the hang of it right away, and I was expecting a few falls and many tears.
However, after a little push and guidance from Daddy, he was on his way with a smile on his face and a laugh that could be heard from a LONG ways away! Yes, he did fall, run into the fence and the side of the garage.....

......but he got up right away, smiled and giggled and then took off again!
How quickley they grow up.

Just a Few Cute Pic's

On the day that we were getting family pictures taken, I decided to quickley try and get a few pictures of my own. They didn't turn out nearly as nicely as the ones that Sara did for us, but hey.....I tried!I can't believe how much they have changed this first year. They aren't little anymore!

In this picture, I told them to stare into eachother's eyes. They must of thought I meant to do some sort of staring competition because it's not the loving kind of stare that I was going for!

I just love this picture!

After a long day of picture taking, Abinet decided to ponder and reflect on his performance throughout the day. (just kidding...we all know that the only two things this boy does really well is eat and sleep!!)
